Anamoose is a small city located in McHenry County, North Dakota, United States. As of the 2020 Census, the population of Anamoose was 248. The town was founded in 1902 and named after a woman known as Annie Moos, who was the wife of a prominent railroad official in the area. Today, Anamoose is a primarily agricultural community, with farming and ranching as the backbone of the local economy. The city is also home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, gas station, and restaurant. Recreational opportunities in the area include hunting, fishing, and hiking at nearby Lake Darling State Park.
